It's been a WHILE!

It is amazing how much your life can change in a matter of days. If things are good, thank God and enjoy every single moment. If things are bad, hold on a little while, it too shall pass. Life is such a roller coaster, it gets pretty old sometimes, why can't things just be calm, even boarding, I am not a fan of drama!
Enough of that, we are completely in our new house, almost all of the boxes are put away, it is starting to feel like home. We survived our first holiday in it, and it functioned very well. I am just going to do a phone dump of all the recent pics which include Easter.

Coming down to the end

We are about a week away from our final inspection! I am so ready to be moving into our dream home. We probably won't have it totally furnished, but I am ok with it, surprisingly. I know that I will have the rest of my life to furnish and re-furnish it. I am just glad that my kids will have an amazing place to play and spend their childhood running around outside, awesome play room inside. One of the first things I am buying is a pair of skates for me and a pair for Kes, and we are going to skate for hours in our garage and drive! Oh and last night was the first time it was lite up, Derrick sent me pics, because I was working late. When I saw them, I honestly teared up, it was beautiful. I saw my dad later on that night and he said he drove by it and saw it all lite up and it brought tears to his eyes because it was so pretty and he knew how much we were going to love it, I thought that was really sweet!

Decisions decisions decisions!!

I love the thought of having all new appliances and bathrooms no leaks, extra storage in a real pantry and so on and so on, but good Lord there are so many decisions I have to make it is overwhelming! Think about the drama it causes when you go to paint one room, and times that by like 100. What colors will blend thought the entire house, curtains, blinds, shower curtains, rugs, bedding. The questions are endless. I am almost to the point of saying, do everything white, no comforters, just white sheets and let me decorate each room one by one once we are living there. I am afraid I have so many concepts running through my head, when it all gets done, it will look insane. Who knows! Good thing is, the outside is pretty much done, other than flower beds, and I am the worst gardner, besides my mother, so I am hands off on those decisions.

Door - huge milestone

Every since we started getting walls framed and it starting to take the shape of a house, Kes has been very disturbed by one thing, NO DOOR! When we go to the house to look around, as we are driving up, Kes ask, "Is this our new house?" "Does it have a door?" That child comes up with the strangest things. So, this was our weekend to go pick out a front door, and Kes was thrilled. We are walking into lowes and I had told him what we were going to do, he said "are we getting a door now?" I told him yes we were looking for a red door, when he asked "Can we get a blue one?" I tried to discourage that when he blurted out, "we can't get a blue door, it don't match to my house!" So, problem solved. We didn't get a red door, but we did get a beautiful wooden door that I am thrilled with!!!

It looks like a house!

It actually looks like a house now!!! We are on schedule to have siding and roof on next week, which means the rain should no longer hinder people from working. I am a little weary about this stage though, because everyone says it goes SO slow from here out. I am supposed to be picking out a door this week, which has been almost as difficult as picking out the house plan itself.... I want a RED door, with half glass or maybe 3/4 glass, no special design on the glass, because I intend on have something hanging over it most of the time, it is a lot harder than you would think! Oh not to mention that dreadful list I made of things we need for each room!!!!!! Like shower curtains, toothbrush holders, rugs, lamps, curtains, chairs, tables, the list is endless! Nevertheless I am excited, even if we move into an empty house, it is going to be big and everyone will have their own room, and it is where we want to be for the rest of our lives, and I am happy!

Getting back to blogging

Short run down since Christmas- everyone is good, life is still hectic, but we have a foundation!!! I am getting really excited, like I do every year around this time regarding all the plans I have for our Sunday schools dept. this month is our teachers' banquet to show how much we really do appreciate all their work they put in every single week. Then, once a month from here out, it's all about our kids, valentine party in February, revival in March.... And so much more!! I am going to try and post events long in advance via my blog and see if I can get input and ideas or suggestions regarding our activities. There are hundreds and hundreds of teacher blogs, but I can't find any Sunday school teacher blogs or Sunday school directors. Maybe because most churches Sunday school is more geared to adults, but ours is just for the kids. Everyone start looking around and noting anything you see super cute for Valentines Day.
